Chapter Management Resources

The fraternity and sorority community is committed to encouraging critical thinking and sound chapter management. To assist in that effort helpful resources from the Office of Fraternity & Sorority Life and from CSU regarding chapter management are provided below.

A high-performing chapter is one that is attentive to detail in all areas of chapter operations on campus. A chapter that excels in the area of chapter management is organized, efficient, and timely.

Connections to CLIMB:

Engaging in solid chapter management practices allows members to engage in critical thinking and provides the operational foundation for all other goals of the chapter to be met. A chapter won’t successfully educate, support, and retain members without good chapter management and won’t be able to reach goals in any priority areas.

Chapter Portals

The Office of Fraternity & Sorority Life has created a unique password-protected chapter portal on our website. Chapter portals contain historic and current Elevation Accreditation materials, individual chapter grade reports, liability insurance certificates, chapter conduct history (if applicable), and other general resources. Chapter presidents are encouraged to review the information in your chapter’s portal.

Chapter Correspondence

Every chapter has a mailbox in the Office of Fraternity & Sorority Life (LSC 142). Chapter mailboxes should be checked routinely, as many chapters receive important financial information.

When sending/receiving mail in the office it is important that each chapter use the following address template:

Presidents Digest

The Office of Fraternity & Sorority Life sends out a weekly president’s digest that combines all announcements, opportunities and important reminders into one email. Our commitment is that the dozens of requests we get to share information with you is compiled into one weekly communication. Chapter presidents need to commit to thoroughly review this information and share with chapter members and leaders as relevant. Chapter presidents serve as “gatekeeper” for their chapter, which means they receive information. If they don’t share it with their chapter, the chapter may not have opportunities to participate fully in relevant opportunities or meet expectations.

Chapter Communication & Marketing

Colorado State University allows registered student organizations to advertise all across campus for limited or no cost. The Campus Communication Tools included below is a resource outlining all of the marketing options available at CSU.

Financial Management Resources

A significant component of chapter management is the creation and maintenance of a chapter budget.

Our office is committed to financial transparency and requires that chapters submit the Finance & Facility Form each semester. That data is then compiled and shared on our Fiance & Facility Information webpage.

Room Reservation Information

All Registered Student Organizations (RSO) have the opportunity to reserve space on Colorado State University's campus.

General classroom reservation:

General assignment classrooms can be reserved through the Office of the Registrar at no cost to registered student organizations. Any student organization that has been registered and authorized through the Student Leadership, Involvement, and Community Engagement (SLiCE) office (click here for registered organizations) may reserve academic classrooms for meetings, study sessions, seminars, etc., based upon availability.

Student Organization Room Reservation Request
- Reservation requests should be submitted at least three business days prior to your event.

Lory Student Center reservations:

Lory Student Center (LSC) reservations are made through the Event Planning Office. Many meeting rooms may be reserved in the Lory Student Center at no cost to registered student organizations. Some larger meeting rooms and large event spaces in the Lory Student Center can be reserved for a fee. For more information about LSC room reservations and costs, please click here.
